QA Weld Tech, an Oil & Gas equipment manufacturer based in the Northeast of England.

With over 40 years of experience in manufacturing critical subsea components and systems, we excel in providing our customers with the specialised products we produce.

This is a fantastic time to join us at QA Weld Tech. We are part of the Express Engineering Group who employ over 300 employees across their two Company’s, Express Engineering (Fabrications) (trading as QA Weld Tech) and Express Engineering (Gateshead).

We are looking for several temporary Welders to join our team and currently have vacancies for the following skill sets:

  • MMA and Inconel Stick.

Further details

  • Be time served with an NVQ level 3 in welding and fabrication, or equivalent.
  • Experienced in TIG route, MMA essential and Inconel stick.
  • Proven experience in fabrication working to detailed drawings, SOP’s, and Weld Procedures.
  • Be familiar with a wide range of materials including Non-Ferrous, Aluminium, Alloy Steel, Stainless Steel, Inconel, and Titanium.
  • Demonstrate adherence to daily quality controls to ensure right first time towards welding activities that include 100% Radiographic Testing (RT), Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and visual examination.
  • Have a can-do attitude and work well with others in a team environment.
  • Be flexible in your approach – willing to work overtime when required to suit customer requirements.
  • Be willing to increase your knowledge and train on other machining processes.
  • Be willing to pass on your knowledge and train others.

After a successful interview, you will be requested to complete a weld test followed by weld qualification certification will be subjected to RT and additional inspection activities.

As with all positions, due to the nature and varying demands of our business, the responsibilities and tasks are not limited to this overview and may change to meet future demands.

We offer a variety of shift patterns including:

Standard Dayshift:

  • Monday to Thursday 07:30 to 16:30, Friday 0730 to 1330.

Rotating Shifts:

  • Dayshift: Monday to Thursday 06:00 to 14:30, Friday 06:00 to 12:00.
  • Nightshift: Monday to Thursday 18:00 to 03:30.
  • Permanent nightshift may also be available.

  • Competitive salary of £19.29 to £21.55 per hour.
